Sudanese political and civil forces have expressed rejection and reservations regarding the Berlin Conference on humanitarian affairs, citing selectivity in invitations, a lack of transparency, and the exclusion of key stakeholders. They described these shortcomings as undermining the required balance and constituting interference in Sudan’s internal affairs.
In a joint statement, the groups affirmed their opposition to and reservations regarding the conference held on Wednesday, organized by Germany, France, and the United Kingdom in coordination with a number of international partners.
The statement criticized the merging of humanitarian, political, and security tracks within the conference agenda without adequate consultation with Sudanese parties, stressing the need for a comprehensive national solution that ensures fair representation of all components.
