New York, (Nabaa Sudan) – Sudan’s delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Ambassador Mohieddin Salem and joined by Darfur Regional Governor Minni Arko Minawi, took part in an interactive dialogue session with United Nations humanitarian partners, which discussed developments in the humanitarian and field situations in Kordofan and Darfur and the growing number of voluntary returnees.
The Sudanese side reviewed the government’s efforts to create an environment conducive to recovery and reconstruction, as well as the Sudanese-Sudanese Dialogue initiative, stressing the importance of using the Tina border crossing to deliver humanitarian assistance.
For their part, UN officials affirmed the continuation of relief efforts, facilitating the delivery of aid and supplies, and supporting food production and resilience, stressing that engagement with parties on the ground is aimed at ensuring humanitarian access and does not imply political recognition.
