New York (Nabaa Sudan) – Ambassador Muawiya Othman Khalid, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met Thursday with Ronald Moulieris, Acting UN Under-Secretary-General for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), and Small Island Developing States (SIDS), on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly session.
Speaking as Vice-Chair of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) group, Ambassador Khalid reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to advancing the development goals of vulnerable nations. He highlighted national initiatives focused on economic recovery, digital transformation, and agricultural development.
The talks centered on leveraging the Doha Programme of Action to strengthen resilience, enhance food security, and support sustainable LDC graduation. Ambassador Khalid confirmed Sudan’s active participation in preparations for the Programme's upcoming midterm review in March, emphasizing Sudan's readiness to bolster partnerships with the UN Office and the State of Qatar.
