The Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) has instructed the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum not to issue a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for the importation of petroleum products to any company unless it has first deposited a physical guarantee of 200 kilograms of 21-carat gold with the Sudan Gold Refinery.
The directive mandates close coordination between the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum and the Sudan Gold Refinery to verify compliance with the requirement before any import approvals are granted.
The measure takes immediate effect and applies to all petroleum import applications submitted through the Baldna platform.
