Port Sudan, (Nabaa Sudan) – The first International Conference on Sudanese Ports concluded in Port Sudan. The conference was organized by the Sudanese Sea Ports Corporation (SPC) in cooperation with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), under the patronage of Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Seif Al-Nasr Al-Tijani Haroun, with the participation of Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Lieutenant General (Navy) Ibrahim Jabir, as well as experts and specialists from five countries.
The conference focused on developing a practical vision for advancing the Sudanese port system and enhancing its integration with transport and logistics networks, in addition to preparing an integrated strategic plan for the ports and developing their infrastructure.
The outcomes included accelerating digital transformation and automation, strengthening integration with supply chains, supporting free zones and partnerships with the private sector, as well as qualifying and training personnel.
Participants agreed to turn the conference into an annual forum, with the second edition scheduled to be held in October 2027 under the theme, “Towards Pivotal, Self-Reliant, Sustainable and Competitive Sudanese Ports.”
