Port Sudan, (Nabaa Sudan) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jabir affirmed that seaports represent gateways to civilizations and bridges for human and diplomatic communication, and can transform coastlines from a source of threats into opportunities for exchange and sustainable development.
Addressing today the opening session of the International Conference on Sudanese Ports, organized by the Sea Ports Corporation (SPC) in cooperation with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Jabir announced the opening of the door to serious investment and the establishment of partnerships that benefit all parties, by maximizing the use of available resources along the Red Sea coast.
Jabir praised the resilience of the Sudanese people and their determination to rise and overcome challenges, with the cooperation and support of brotherly and friendly countries.
The TSC Member stressed the importance of benefiting from the visions and scientific papers presented at the conference to develop and expand existing ports and establish new ports and free zones.
“We look forward to developing a roadmap alongside strategic and phased plans bound by specific timelines for the execution of these visions, with a commitment to government backing until they are achieved on the ground,” he said.
