Sudan, Pakistan Discuss Strengthening Economic and Trade Cooperation

Industry Undersecretary Meets Pakistani Ambassador

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Dr. Awad Salam discussed with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Sudan Atif Sharif ways to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the economic and trade fields.

The Undersecretary stressed the importance of increasing trade exchange, with a focus on Sudanese exports to Pakistan, including agricultural crops and livestock products, and called on Pakistani companies to invest in Sudan.

The meeting also discussed opportunities for cooperation in indigenizing priority industries, particularly chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, software, and services.

The ambassador affirmed his country’s keenness to continue cooperation, explore new opportunities for economic cooperation, attract investment, and strengthen partnerships between the two countries.
