Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri said the ministry plans to establish an Animal Production City in the short term (2026) and the long term (2028) as a priority move to scale up exports of animal and fishery products.
Speaking on Saturday during a review of the ministry’s plan, Al-Mansouri said the strategy includes 37 projects across the animal and fisheries sectors aimed at achieving self-sufficiency and expanding exports. He stressed the ministry’s determination to position Sudan as a competitive regional and international player in animal and fishery resources.
He said the vision aligns with national policies to diversify the economy, strengthen food security, and secure Sudan’s place in global markets, noting plans to open new export destinations for high-quality, disease-free Sudanese meat.
Al-Mansouri added that the plan incorporates programs to promote peaceful coexistence among local communities and reduce conflicts over grazing areas, in coordination with international and regional partners.
He also pointed to partnerships with the private sector, regional funds such as the Kuwait Fund and development banks, as well as cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the Sultanate of Oman.
