Minerals Minister Nour-El-Daim Taha, heading a high-level delegation of mining sector leaders and experts, is participating in the 28th International Mining Conference and Exhibition in the Chinese city of Tianjin from September 10 to 12, under the theme “Win-Win Cooperation, Green and Smart Mining.”
The minister presented Sudan’s vision for the future of the mining sector, highlighting the country’s diverse mineral resources, including gold, copper, iron, chromium, manganese, and industrial minerals, as well as indications of strategic mineral deposits.
He said the government views mining as a key driver of economic recovery and reconstruction and is working to attract investment, strengthen legislation and governance, expand exploration, and update geological maps, while promoting the processing and manufacturing of mineral resources rather than relying solely on their export.
