Khartoum, (Nabaa Sudan) – Türkiye affirmed that it considers Sudan a long-term partner with which it shares deep historical, cultural, economic, and humanitarian ties, stressing that it has always attached great importance to its partnership with Sudan.
In his remarks to the opening session of the High-Level Dialogue on the Recovery of Sudan’s Private Sector, Turkish Commercial Attaché to Sudan Mr. Yücel Eğürmez, representing the Turkish Ambassador, expressed Türkiye’s readiness to contribute to the recovery of the private sector through stronger partnerships between Turkish and Sudanese companies in various areas of mutual interest.
He added that Türkiye would share its expertise with Sudan, particularly in reliable and affordable energy to restore productive capacity, noting that Türkiye’s experience in the energy sector could contribute to agriculture, water systems, manufacturing, food processing, and small enterprises. He pointed out that infrastructure and logistics would be equally important.
Mr. Yücel Eğürmez said Türkiye had continued to stand by the Sudanese people through humanitarian and development activities despite the difficult circumstances in recent years, referring to Turkish relief efforts for those affected by the war. He affirmed that Türkiye had maintained its institutional presence in Sudan throughout the war, noting that Turkish institutions had resumed their activities in Sudan, foremost among them Turkish Airlines and Ziraat Katılım Bank.
He also noted that the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) continues its development and humanitarian activities in Sudan to support local communities and recovery efforts, alongside organizations and institutions such as the Turkish Red Crescent, the Yunus Emre Institute, and the Maarif Foundation.
Turkish Commercial Attaché said Turkish exports to Sudan exceeded $150 million in the first half of 2026, affirming the continuation of economic relations despite the challenging environment.
He affirmed Türkiye’s belief that Sudan’s recovery should be comprehensive and Sudanese-led, with a focus on creating opportunities for its people, stressing that Türkiye is ready to support this process.
