Khartoum, (Nabaa Sudan) – Federal Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim chaired a high-level meeting to address health services in hard-to-reach areas across Darfur, the Blue Nile, and Kordofan. The meeting reviewed the health situation and challenges affecting service delivery, supplies, staffing, and coverage of primary and emergency healthcare.

The Minister stressed the need to strengthen health interventions and coordination among authorities and humanitarian partners, noting that only 38% of the $325 million required under the humanitarian plan has been funded. He called for increased support to reach at least 70% funding by the end of the year and ensure the continuity of essential services.

The meeting also discussed unified coordination mechanisms and equitable resource distribution. The Darfur Region Minister of Health called for expanding health services to underserved localities and strengthening primary healthcare through partner organizations.
