Tawila, (Nabaa Sudan) – The General Coordination for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Refugees said that the influx of IDPs into the Tawila area in North Darfur State continued over the past few days due to the repercussions of the conflict, insecurity, and drought in various parts of the region.
The Coordination explained that Tawila received between September 23 and 27 a total of 275 families comprising 1,390 individuals from the areas of Dar Al-Salam, Dar Al-Somayat, and Goz Al-Naeem in North Darfur State, in addition to six families from the city of Nyala in South Darfur State.
It noted that the total number of displaced people who have arrived in Tawila since the beginning of September has reached 909 families, comprising 4,797 individuals, amid severe shortages of food, drinking water, health services, shelter, and sanitation.
