State Minister at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Welfare and member of the National Mechanism for Civilian Protection, Suleima Izhag, said external assistance provided to displaced persons (IDPs) from Darfur and Kordofan at an accommodation centre in eastern Dongola remains below the required level, despite the increasing number of displaced persons in Northern State.
For his part, the Acting Executive Director of Dongola Locality said the East Dongola centre has so far received 117 displaced families from Darfur and Kordofan, noting that humanitarian support continues in coordination with official authorities and organizations.
