UN Welcomes Sudan’s Decision to Extend Opening of Adre Border Crossing with Chad Until September 30

معبر أدري

The United Nations has welcomed the decision by the Sudanese authorities to extend the opening of the Adre border crossing with Chad until September 30. The crossing serves as a key route for the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Darfur and Kordofan states.

United Nations Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said the extension of the border crossing's opening would help ensure the continued delivery of aid to those in need despite the security challenges and instability affecting some border areas.

He added that humanitarian partners continue to deliver assistance in Darfur, where cash assistance was recently distributed to 250 households, in addition to food assistance that reached more than 42,000 people.
