Kampala, (Nabaa Sudan) – Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, met with Commander of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, on the sidelines of their participation in the “Military Operations Other Than War” conference.
The discussions addressed regional peace and security issues, the evolving nature of security threats facing the region, and mechanisms for strengthening joint action and coordination among member states to address these challenges.
During the meeting, IGAD reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its partnership with member states and key regional stakeholders to consolidate stability and support the foundations of collective security in the region.
