The United Arab Emirates (UAE) apologised to Israel for delays in providing support during the genocide against the people of Gaza. This and more are revealed by shocking leaks from within the UAE’s own state institutions.
In recent days, leaks have circulated from an internal report prepared by an official security body in the United Arab Emirates in 2024, disclosing unprecedented details about the nature of coordination with Israel at the height of its war on Gaza.
The leaks do not concern political “normalisation” or general diplomatic relations, but rather direct executive-level correspondence, including requests, responses, and formal apologies.
Among the most serious revelations are communications issued by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and addressed to Mohammed bin Zayed, containing explicit requests to continue and expand specific forms of support during the war, alongside praise for what were described as “results achieved within a short period of time”.
More alarming still, according to the same documents, the Emirati response included an official apology for delays in certain aspects of support due to logistical and technical reasons, coupled with a firm assurance that the delay was temporary and that the support would be completed and delivered in line with agreed arrangements.
The leaks also reveal that Israel did not only seek practical support, but also requested control over media discourse and the avoidance of any coverage or statements that could generate pressure or political embarrassment during the war. The documents indicate that this request was handled as an integral part of managing the relationship, rather than as a passing remark.
The implications of these leaks are grave and unmistakable:
While Gaza was being bombarded, civilians were being killed, and a documented genocide was unfolding, there were executive communications, requests, and apologies for delayed support emanating from within an Arab state, framed as a full-fledged operational partnership.
