DAMAZIN (Nabaa Sudan) – The Fourth Infantry Division in Damazin announced that it had foiled an attempted breakthrough by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and forces loyal to rebel Joseph Tuka in the Sali area, on the eastern axis of the Blue Nile Region.
In a statement issued by its Media Office, the division said its forces, alongside supporting forces, had repelled the attack and seized 15 combat vehicles with all their equipment intact, while destroying five other vehicles belonging to the attacking force. It added that the attackers had suffered losses in personnel and equipment.
The division affirmed that its field operations would continue to counter attempts to breach its positions, strengthen security in the area and consolidate control over it. It also stressed its commitment to confronting what it described as plans to undermine security and stability and terrorise citizens and displaced people in the Blue Nile Region.
