The Sudan Doctors Network announced that 10 civilians, including five women from the same family, were killed after a vehicle carrying them was struck by a drone operated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on the Export Road west of Omdurman.
In a statement, the network said the victims were traveling to attend a wedding celebration when their vehicle came under attack, igniting it and killing everyone on board.
The Sudan Doctors Network described the targeting of civilians and civilian transport as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, stating that the attack was carried out using a “guided drone” and reflected a “systematic targeting of civilians” in the area.
The network called on United Nations organizations to intervene and pressure the Rapid Support Forces leadership to halt attacks on civilians, stressing that such actions violate international norms and laws.
