The Governor of the Blue Nile Region, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Al-Omda Badi, told a visiting media delegation led by Jamal Angara in Al-Damazin that the region has overcome security and tribal challenges thanks to its strong social cohesion and the wisdom of its people.

He said the region's resilience and support for the Sudanese Armed Forces had thwarted attempts to seize full control of the area's strategic resources since the outbreak of the conflict.

Badi also praised what he described as the patriotic stance of Blue Nile residents who had been serving with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia but refused to take part in operations targeting the region, saying their position helped preserve security, stability, and social cohesion.

The governor announced that about 80% of the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) forces had been integrated under the security arrangements, stressing that the Armed Forces and supporting units, including mobilized volunteers, remain fully prepared to confront any threats in pursuit of the “One Army, One Constitution” strategy.

On the humanitarian front, he said the region has received large numbers of internally displaced persons (IDPs), new arrivals, and around 17,000 people from South Sudan in its western areas. He added that the regional government is continuing reconstruction efforts and expanding humanitarian access.

Badi concluded by commending the national media and the Angara Media Services Center for their support during the Battle of Dignity, urging journalists to report facts objectively and contribute to Sudan's reconstruction and long-term stability.
