Khartoum, (Nabaa Sudan) – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, said ceasefire agreements had repeatedly collapsed during the war because they were “formulated about Sudan without Sudan,” noting that the truces had become opportunities for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and its backers to reorganize their ranks.
In an article published by Foreign Policy magazine under the title “How Can Peace Be Achieved in Sudan?”, Al-Burhan said the world’s attention repeatedly shifted away from Sudan during periods of ceasefire, considering that what happened in El-Fasher had tragically demonstrated where this approach could lead.
He said Sudan “will not accept repeating” this cycle, noting that his government is presenting a plan to end the war at a time when the RSF commander has declared his readiness to fight for 40 years if necessary.
