President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, inspected Merowe Dam and reviewed its technical and operational status, as well as efforts to maintain stable electricity supplies.

He received a briefing on ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation work at the dam and power station and directed that technical faults be addressed promptly and vital facilities secured to ensure reliable electricity supplies and essential services.

The visit underscored Merowe Dam’s importance as a major source of electricity and comes amid broader efforts to rehabilitate the power sector and vital infrastructure.
