British Special Envoy for Sudan Richard Crowder said, following his meeting with President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, that the report of the International Fact-Finding Mission painted a grim picture of violations of international and humanitarian law, as well as external intervention in the crisis through the recruitment of foreign mercenaries.
Crowder called for an end to the war and humanitarian suffering through a Sudanese-led and Sudanese-owned dialogue within an inclusive and transparent political process.
He said Britain would welcome initiatives by genuine stakeholders, noting that the Sudan crisis would receive the attention of world leaders during the UN General Assembly meetings in New York.
