The committee formed under the decision of President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) No. (270) of 2026 announced the start of its work to prepare for a detainee exchange process, affirming the government’s commitment to protecting civilians and its response to the United Nations initiative in this regard.
Following its first meeting, the committee said it has begun making arrangements to register and classify detainees and prepare the necessary records, in addition to coordinating with relevant authorities and developing a medical and psychological support plan before, during, and after the exchange process.
The committee also called on families of civilian detainees and missing persons who have not previously reported their cases to visit the nearest police station or public prosecution office within one week of the announcement to register their relatives’ details. It affirmed its continued cooperation with all concerned parties to ensure the success of the exchange process.
