Nyala (Nabaa Sudan) – Field information has revealed that an Israeli expert named Meir Cohen is present in the city of Nyala, where he is carrying out technical and military assignments on behalf of the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. These include developing air defence capabilities, training personnel to operate drones, overseeing the construction of ground fortifications, and installing communications, jamming, navigation, and air-control systems.
According to the information, Cohen, an Israeli national, had been residing in Ethiopia, where he worked within the country's air defence establishment, specialising in air defence technologies, modern communications, and drone technology, before being brought to Nyala through arrangements made by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The information indicates that he arrived in Nyala in May 2026, where he held meetings with senior militia leaders. His activities focused on developing drone capabilities, expanding intelligence operations, strengthening ground fortifications, and training technical personnel.
His reported assignments also included training militia members to operate strategic drones and expanding their use in offensive operations, as well as preparing shelters for drones at the Kashlangu Camp, east of Nyala Airport, and installing and maintaining communications and jamming systems.
The information further states that Cohen uses prosthetic limbs following the amputation of one of his legs due to an injury sustained in connection with the war in Lebanon.
