Minister of Finance Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim directed relevant authorities to strengthen regulatory controls and improve operational conditions at border crossings in line with international standards, as part of government efforts to protect the national economy, regulate trade flows, and facilitate the movement of travellers.
A high-level meeting at the Ministry of Finance, attended by several ministers and representatives of relevant agencies, underscored the importance of full coordination among institutions operating at border crossings and the integration of their roles to enhance oversight and improve operational efficiency.
The meeting also underscored the importance of completing network integration among government entities to ensure the accuracy and transparency of transactions, facilitate real-time monitoring of procedures, and enable timely decision-making by the relevant authorities.
