New York, (Nabaa Sudan) – Governor of Darfur Region Minni Arko Minawi said he met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York, where they discussed developments in Sudan.
Minawi explained that the talks covered political, economic, security, and field developments, in addition to the decision to bar President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan from entering the United States to participate in the General Assembly meetings, as well as UN Security Council Resolution 1591 and the arms embargo on Darfur.
He added that the meeting also addressed ways to support peace, stability, and Sudan’s sovereignty.
