Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Malik Agar, met Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in Djibouti in an unexpected encounter that came days after Khartoum accused Addis Ababa of involvement in the bombing of Khartoum International Airport.
According to informed sources, the meeting was mediated by Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh as part of efforts to ease tensions between the two countries and restore direct communication channels between the Sudanese and Ethiopian leaderships.
The development coincided with the participation of the TSC Vice President Malik Agar Eir in the inauguration ceremony of Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh, held at the Djibouti International Conference Center, with the attendance of several African leaders, heads of state, and representatives of international organizations.
The visit aims to strengthen relations between Sudan and Djibouti and enhance coordination on issues of mutual interest in the region and the Horn of Africa.
