Cairo, (Nabaa Sudan) — A delegation from the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) participated in the third conference on the development of mineral resources and strategic minerals and the advancement of Africa’s energy sector, held in Cairo as part of the activities of the eighth African Union Mid-Year Coordination Meeting.
Director of Economic Cooperation and Regional Integration at IGAD, Dr. Mohi-Eddin Al-Tohami, said the conference provides an opportunity to enhance regional cooperation in strategic minerals, value addition and private-sector investment, as well as energy security and infrastructure development, while creating conditions for attracting investment, supporting the regional economy and promoting sustainable development.
