Sudan, CNPC Discuss Expanding Oil Cooperation and Reconstruction Support

Sudan's Ambassador to China, Omar Issa Ahmed, met with Song Dayong, Vice President of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the oil sector and supporting Sudan's reconstruction efforts.

The two sides reviewed more than three decades of cooperation that has contributed to the development of Sudan's oil industry. CNPC reaffirmed its interest in Sudan and readiness to continue dialogue and support the stability of the oil sector.

Ambassador Omar Issa expressed Sudan's appreciation for CNPC's role in supporting the national economy, implementing strategic projects, and transferring technical expertise, while reaffirming Sudan's commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Chinese companies.

The two sides agreed to facilitate exchanges between specialised committees to further enhance oil cooperation and support Sudan's reconstruction and petroleum industry development.
