Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) air defence units shot down three drones flying over areas in the northern part of White Nile State, according to field sources on Tuesday.
The sources said ground-based air defences detected the drones immediately upon entering the area’s airspace and engaged them before they could reach any potential targets.
They added that the operation resulted in no casualties or material damage, noting that available information so far does not indicate any injuries.
The sources further stated that the drones were launched from positions belonging to the Rapid Support Forces, without providing additional details on the nature of the intended targets.
