Minister of Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Engineer Ahmed Dirdiri Ghandour said that maintaining lives and ensuring the continuity of the state under the most difficult circumstances were among the key strengths demonstrated by the telecommunications sector during the war.
He noted that the experience of the war has shown the importance of building resilient telecommunications systems, stressing that the ministry will work with the state, the private sector, and partners to provide the best possible telecommunications services.
The minister made the remarks on Sunday while addressing the National Multi-Stakeholder Workshop for the Adoption of the National Emergency Telecommunications Plan (NETP) and introducing the Cell Broadcast Early Warning System (CB-EWS). The two-day workshop, organized by the Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority, is being held at Al-Salam Rotana Hotel in Khartoum, in the presence of the Minister of Interior, representing the Prime Minister, along with a number of ministers and state officials.
He added: “We want a network that can reach citizens wherever they are, and the success of the plan will be one of Sudan’s best practical tools for keeping pace with future technological developments.”
