TSC Vice-President Malik Agar: No Negotiations Before RSF Withdrawal from Cities and Residential Areas

Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Malik Agar has ruled out any negotiations with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia before this gang group withdraws from cities and residential areas.

Agar stressed that any political process must be preceded by concrete measures on the ground, foremost among them the withdrawal of RSF forces from populated areas and the cessation of their military presence in civilian neighborhoods.

He said that negotiations cannot proceed under circumstances in which cities and residential communities remain under the control or military presence of the RSF militia, emphasizing that the security and protection of civilians must be addressed as a prerequisite for any meaningful political process.

Agar’s statements underscore the Sudanese government’s insistence that any future negotiations be based on clear conditions and binding commitments, rather than taking place while military forces remain deployed inside populated areas.

The remarks come amid continued calls for a political settlement to the conflict, with the question of RSF withdrawal from cities and civilian areas remaining one of the central issues in efforts to establish a credible path toward peace and stability in Sudan.
