Senior Adviser to the U.S. President for Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos said he held constructive discussions with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aatty on the latest developments in Sudan.

Boulos said the talks focused on efforts to reach a humanitarian truce that would allow the unhindered flow of humanitarian assistance, as well as efforts to launch a comprehensive Sudanese dialogue.

He added that both sides stressed that there is no military solution to the Sudanese crisis and affirmed their commitment to working toward civilian governance in a united Sudan.
