Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Muawiya Osman Khalid, and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and Head of the Legal Sector, Ali Khidr, today received the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, upon his arrival at Port Sudan Airport for an official four-day visit.
During the visit, the High Commissioner is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with officials responsible for human rights affairs, to assess the humanitarian situation and the state of human rights in the country.
The visit will also include a trip to the Northern State, where the High Commissioner will visit displacement centres, including Al-Affadh and Al-Dabbah, and he is expected to hold a press conference at the conclusion of his visit.
