The Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA) has continued its nationwide efforts to bolster Sudan’s health workforce since the start of the year, training more than 560 health professionals to enhance service quality and expand access to care.
Beyond capacity-building, SAPA has operated hospitals during the war, delivered direct medical services, supported environmental health initiatives, and provided food assistance to affected communities.
During a Sunday meeting with SAPA’s Sudan Office Director, the Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health commended the organization’s substantial contributions and emphasized the importance of ongoing cooperation during the reconstruction phase, particularly to develop equitable health services across all states.
Dr. Faisal Ahmed Al-Nour, Director of SAPA’s Sudan Office, highlighted that the organization aligns its efforts with the Ministry of Health’s priorities to ensure sustainable recovery. He stressed that investing in youth training and professional development is key to building a more stable and resilient health system in Sudan.
