The Secretary-General of the Arab Economic Unity Council, Ambassador Dr. Mohamed Ahmed, affirmed the Council's support for Sudan's efforts to rehabilitate and develop the transport sector, noting that the country possesses significant potential to achieve economic growth.
He made the remarks during the opening of the Sudanese-Arab Smart Transport Forum in Khartoum, held under the theme: “Towards a Smart and Sustainable Partnership for Rebuilding the Transport Sector.”
Dr. Ahmed said the Council is working to establish partnerships with major Arab companies to support Sudan's reconstruction efforts. He also highlighted the launch of an initiative from Cairo to rehabilitate the transport sector, stressing that keeping pace with technological advancements and building an intelligent transport system are key pillars for achieving sustainable development.
