Minister of Industry and Trade Mahasin Ali Yaqoub met Wednesday with Libya's Minister of Industry and Minerals, Mohamed Abdel-Gadir, on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the Arab Industrial Development Organization.
Minister Mahasin reaffirmed Sudan's pride in its longstanding ties with Libya and underscored the country's commitment to deepening industrial and trade cooperation in ways that serve the shared interests of both nations.
The Libyan minister welcomed his Sudanese counterpart, saying Libya was honored to host the General Assembly. He described the gathering as an important platform for advancing Arab industrial integration and translating the two countries' shared aspirations into practical partnerships in industry, mining, and intra-Arab trade.
Mahasin congratulated Libya on the successful organization of the General Assembly, emphasizing Sudan's commitment to leveraging such forums to strengthen bilateral relations, activate existing memoranda of understanding, and expand technical cooperation in support of both countries' economic and industrial development.
The two ministers also discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, coordinate positions within the framework of joint Arab action, support the Arab Industrial Development Organization, and improve the investment climate in both countries.
