Khartoum (Nabaa Sudan) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jaber chaired a meeting of the Economic Performance Monitoring Committee to discuss issues affecting citizens’ daily lives.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Tourism and Antiquities Dr Graham Abdel Gadir said, in a press statement, that the meeting heard a report from the Ministry of Trade on export and import lists, as well as reviewing and developing trade protocols with neighbouring countries.
He said the meeting discussed ways to benefit from the expertise of the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) and other countries in utilising expatriates’ savings and remittances to support the national economy, while ensuring that expatriates receive appropriate benefits in recognition of their contribution to supporting the country and their families during the war.
Graham added that the meeting directed that the Esali system be improved and further developed, following the success of its implementation and its role in increasing revenues. It also called for strengthening the media’s role in activating the single-window system and the electronic system to facilitate services for citizens and promote transparency.
