A United Nations Security Council Panel of Experts has revealed the existence of supply routes used to support the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia from southern Libya to northern and western Darfur, noting that the Libyan city of Kufra has become a major supply hub for the forces, according to Sudan Tribune.
The report said an analysis of cargo flights operated by Ilyushin aircraft to Kufra between April and December 2025 reinforced the city’s role as a supply hub for the RSF militia.
The panel said it had identified five main routes for transporting supplies from southern Libya to Darfur, passing through areas including Ma’tan Al-Sarra, Karab Al-Toum, Al-Atroon, Adré and Kufra, before reaching areas in northern and western Darfur.
The report also said Tebu communities in southern Libya continued to facilitate the movement of RSF supply convoys, benefiting from their commercial ties with the Rizeigat community. It added that other routes through eastern Chad were also being used to transport supplies into Darfur.
