Al-Sadig Al-Hadi: Do Not Wait for the War to End to Start Sudanese ‎Dialogue

Al Sadig Al Hadi

Khartoum (Nabaa Sudan) – Chairman of the National Bloc Alliance Al-‎Sadig Al-Hadi Al-Mahdi has called for accelerating efforts to launch ‎Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue and broadening participation to include ‎all political forces and social groups, both inside and outside the ‎country. He stressed that dialogue should begin alongside the security ‎track, without waiting for the war to end.‎

Speaking after meeting with the Preparatory Committee for Sudanese-‎Sudanese Dialogue at the committee’s headquarters in Khartoum on ‎Saturday, Al-Mahdi said the dialogue must be inclusive and move ‎beyond exclusion. He highlighted the importance of involving Sufi ‎orders, influential civil society figures, and native administration ‎leaders, as well as drawing on specialists in economics and the civil ‎service to help address the country’s crises and lay the foundations for ‎a stable civil state. ‎

He stressed the need to engage with political forces that oppose or ‎have reservations about participating in the dialogue, including those ‎making a ceasefire a precondition for joining the political process. He ‎called for outreach led by independent and widely accepted national ‎figures, alongside the use

Al-Mahdi urged the acceleration of dialogue efforts to address the ‎country’s economic and humanitarian crises, particularly in ‎displacement-affected areas. He emphasized the need to pursue ‎parallel security and political tracks, with the security track drawing on ‎the outcomes of the Juba Peace Agreement for Sudan.‎

He added that the victories achieved by the Armed Forces should be ‎accompanied by political action to prepare for the post-war phase and ‎establish common ground among Sudanese forces, thereby helping ‎the country avoid repeating the mistakes of previous political ‎experiences.‎

The initiative to prepare for Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue was ‎launched on August 30, 2026, with the aim of creating a conducive ‎environment for dialogue, building trust among Sudanese parties, and ‎facilitating consultations on the dialogue’s conditions, methodology, ‎and guarantees, ahead of launching an inclusive dialogue inside Sudan ‎based entirely on Sudanese will.‎
