Khartoum, (Nabaa Sudan) – Member of the Sudanese Dialogue Preparatory Committee Ibrahim Ahmed Ibrahim said the upcoming dialogue is not intended to establish power-sharing quotas or divide power and wealth, but rather to build an inclusive national project in which Sudanese people participate.
Speaking during a consultative meeting with the Central Sudan Forum and Movement at the committee’s headquarters, Ibrahim explained that the current dialogue differs from previous dialogue experiences by broadening participation to include stakeholders rather than limiting it to political elites.
According to Ibrahim, the philosophy of the dialogue is based on giving forces and communities concerned with the issues under discussion an opportunity to participate in shaping the next phase, rather than restricting the debate to political forces.
He said the committee is “fully confident and determined” that Sudanese people can overcome the crisis through consensus and dialogue, adding that nothing can stand in the way of the will of the Sudanese people.
The meeting with representatives of Central Sudan Forum is part of a series of consultations aimed at listening to the views of different components on the format and priorities of the dialogue, at a time when the committee is presenting it as a Sudanese-led process focused on national issues and stakeholder participation.
