Egyptian journalist Sabah Moussa said that the visit by President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, to the towns of Om Siala and Bara in North Kordofan just one day after their recapture from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia carries significant military and political implications.
Moussa stated that the visit reflects the leadership’s confidence in having firmly consolidated control over the two towns, indicating that the prospect of the RSF launching a successful counteroffensive or regaining them is no longer considered a realistic scenario.
She added that the visit also reinforces growing indications that military operations are now moving toward completing the liberation of the entire Kordofan region in the coming period, as the Sudanese Armed Forces continue to advance across multiple front.
