Faris Al-Nur, a member of the Advisory Presidential Council of the so-called “Tasis” government and former Governor of Khartoum State within its Nyala-based administration, has defected from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
Multiple reliable sources have disclosed new details surrounding his defection.
According to the sources, Al-Nur, who served as an adviser to RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemedti” and was a member of the RSF negotiation committee, has arrived in Saudi Arabia.
The sources said Al-Nur had declined to reside in Nyala and had instead been moving between several African capitals, particularly Nairobi, Kenya, where he was involved in commercial activities related to cargo transport through South Sudan and the Cameroonian port of Douala.
They further stated that RSF Deputy Commander Abdul Rahim Dagalo had assigned him to market thousands of tons of peanuts seized by the militia from Al-Nohod following its takeover of the city last year. The peanuts were transported to Nyala before being shipped through Chadian territory to the port of Douala in Cameroon.
