Khartoum, (Nabaa Sudan) – President of the General Union of Sudanese Journalists Al-Sadig Al-Ruzaigi affirmed that Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue is a realistic option and a necessary step toward overcoming the current crisis, stressing that achieving stability and peace requires domestic consensus far from dictates and foreign interference.
In a press statement on Tuesday, Al-Ruzaigi explained that regional and international experiences have shown that states can achieve stability and build security only through internal dialogues that reflect the aspirations of their peoples. He noted that external initiatives often carry interests and agendas that may undermine national sovereignty, making domestic dialogue the best means of preserving national will and strengthening the country’s resilience.
He stressed the need for the political process to proceed in parallel with military operations aimed at asserting state sovereignty, explaining that the anticipated dialogue should not be merely a platform for elites or a political aspiration, but rather an inclusive process involving various national and social components and modern political forces, ensuring the participation of Sudanese people from across the spectrum in determining the country’s future.
Al-Ruzaigi reiterated that the “dialogue train” will move forward toward comprehensive agreement on the key issues facing the country, foremost among them the form of government, the federal system, and justice, contributing to the establishment of a new social contract that consolidates stability and lays the foundation for a better future for coming generations.
In a message he issued on the nature of the current phase and ongoing developments, Al-Ruzaigi addressed the course of events and national positions, affirming that matters are moving toward a decisive stage. He noted that “what is happening now is moving toward a decisive phase,” referring to the continuation of announced steps and positions and the steadfastness of the vision regarding national and critical issues.
He added that the political arena is witnessing intensive moves reflecting determination to maintain the position and continue working toward the desired goals and outcomes. He stressed the importance of managing the current phase in a manner that preserves the country’s unity and sovereignty and creates the appropriate conditions for comprehensive national dialogue.
