The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Muawiya Osman Khalid, arrived in Moscow on Monday, leading the Sudanese delegation participating in the meetings of the Political Consultation Committee between the foreign ministries of Sudan and Russia.
An official session of talks will be held under the chairmanship of the Undersecretary on the Sudanese side and Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Yusenko on the Russian side, with the participation of Sudan's Ambassador to Russia and the Russian Ambassador to Sudan.
The Undersecretary's programme includes meetings with the Chairman of the Federation Council's Committee on Foreign Relations, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister responsible for international organisations, and the Director General of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Natural Resources, who heads the Russian side of the Joint Ministerial Committee.
The visit is expected to strengthen bilateral relations, enhance cooperation and coordination in international forums, and review the implementation of the cooperation protocol of the Joint Intergovernmental Committee between the two countries.
