The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Communications on Thursday announced the launch of the Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority.
The Ministry stated: “Today, we mark the launch of the Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority, a pivotal institutional step toward establishing a comprehensive national cybersecurity framework in Sudan.”
The Ministry added that the launch signals a shift from fragmented approaches to structured governance, unifying policies, clarifying roles, and strengthening the protection of digital infrastructure and critical services based on a risk management approach aligned with international standards.
At the national level, the Authority will spearhead the development of policies and regulatory frameworks, strengthen compliance, and build national capacities. These efforts aim to ensure service stability, boost partner confidence, and empower national talent—particularly youth—to actively engage in the digital economy.
The Ministry underscored that this initiative demonstrates Sudan’s commitment to creating a secure, structured, and resilient digital environment, laying the foundation for responsible digital transformation and reinforcing the country’s standing within regional and international frameworks.
