The official spokesperson for the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), Brigadier General Asim Awad Abdelwahab, affirmed that Sudan’s participation in the “Red Wave 8” exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia comes as part of efforts to enhance regional maritime security and safeguard vital waterways.
He stated in remarks to the “Sudanese Echo” platform that the exercise represents an opportunity to exchange expertise and improve the efficiency of naval forces, noting the General Command’s commitment to developing capabilities, combating smuggling and illegal migration, and countering terrorism.
