A Sudanese vascular surgeon in Riyadh has achieved a landmark medical breakthrough unprecedented in the Middle East. Dr. Omar Abdel-Gadir Abdel-Rahim, Consultant of Vascular Surgery at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, successfully reconstructed the aorta using a biological graft — a procedure that saved the life of a Saudi patient.
