Federal Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim has commended the private sector for its contribution to maintaining the stability of health services, particularly the supply of medicines during the war. He also praised the Pharmaceutical Importers Chamber's initiative to establish a laboratory and support the headquarters of the National Medicines and Poisons Board (NMPB) through resources generated from the 1% levy.
During a meeting with the Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Importers Chamber, Dr. Waleed Mohamed Ahmed, the Minister stressed that medicines are a key pillar of national security and called for a national conference to advance Sudan's pharmaceutical sector.
The Secretary-General of the National Medicines and Poisons Board reviewed the performance of the electronic platform used for product registration and company procedures.
Meanwhile, the Chamber Chairman said the pharmaceutical sector is working to overcome the impact of the war and restore stability, emphasizing that the proposed laboratory project will help improve medicine availability and ensure a sustainable pharmaceutical supply.
