Sudan’s Human Resources Minister Presents Travel Tickets to 300 Returnees from Uganda Under Voluntary Return Initiative

Human Resources Minister delivers tickets to 300 Retunees form Uganda

Sudan’s Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Motasem Ahmed Saleh, handed over travel tickets to 300 Sudanese returnees from Uganda as part of 1,200 air tickets provided by Direct Aid Organization in support of the voluntary return programme.

In Kampala, the Minister also held discussions with Uganda’s Minister for Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Lillian Aber, on arrangements to facilitate the return of Sudanese nationals wishing to return home. The discussions focused on expediting and streamlining procedures, closing the refugee files of those opting for voluntary return, and considering the allocation of a dedicated pathway for returnees at Entebbe International Airport.

The Minister affirmed that return is entirely voluntary and that the role of the National High Committee for Voluntary Return and Reintegration is limited to organizing, facilitating and supporting the reintegration process.
